The Neosho County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for male and female detention officer trainee positions. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a H.S. Diploma or G.E.D., and have a valid driver's license. Starting wage is $15.25 plus a .40 cent shift differential for the night shift. This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level into a law enforcement career.
Fringe benefits include KPERS Retirement, sick leave, vacation, health insurance, and more. Detention officers work 7/14 days. Week #1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, and Sun. Week #2: Wed, and Thurs. Day shift is 06:00 to 1800, night shift is 1800 - 0600. Typically newly hired detention officers begin on the night shift rotation. The Neosho County Health Department has a full-time position as a WIC Coordinator.
