The Neosho County Sheriff's Office has male detention officer positions open. The starting wage is $15.25 plus night shift differential increasing to $16.00 per hour after 6 month probationary period.
Detention Officers only work 7/14 days. First week: Mon, Tues, Friday, Sat, and Sun. Second week: Wed, Thurs. 12 hour shifts.

No experience is necessary as we provide on the job training. Many of our previous jailers were college students that were able to obtain their degrees while working, or used the experience and on the job training to move on to better careers. Many have gone into law enforcement.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a H.S. diploma or GED, and a valid driver's licence, and pass a background check.
Many of our deputies got their start in the law enforecement profession by working in the jail and proving their work ethic. Good reading comprehension, writing, and computer skills are helpful.

The Neosho County Communications Center is accepting applications for a part-time 911 Communications Officer. The Neosho County Emergency Operations Center is a state-of-the-art facility. We are looking for a career minded individuals. No prior experience nexessary, as we provide an extensive training program. This position has a starting wage of up to $14.00 per hour. Duties will include answering administrative and 911 phone calls and dispatching emergency services. This position is an excellent opportunity for entry level into the law enforcement field. The Neosho County Sheriff's Office currently has a position of deputy sheriff open, with primary duties of court security. Normal hours for this position will be 08:00 - 16:30, Mon-Fri. Must be atleast 21 years of age, have a High School Diploma or GED, have a valid driver's license, no criminal history, pass a physical and psychological exam, KLETC preferred. Starting wage is $17.20 per hour, increasing to 18-19:50 after probationary period depending on qualifications. This position will remain open until filled.
