The Neosho County Sheriff's Office has two male detention officer positions open. Starting wage is $14.50 per hour with a 5% wage increase after successful completion of the probationary period, and a $.40 night shift differential. These will likely be night shift positions once trained, and successful completion of probation would be $15.65/hr.
Detention Officers onlu work 7/14 days. First week: Mon, Tues, Friday, Sat, and Sun. Second week: Wed, Thurs. 12 hour shifts.

No experience is necessary as we provide on the job training. Many of our previous jailers were college students that were able to obtain their degrees while working, or used the experience and on the job training to move on to better careers. Many have gone into law enforcement.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a H.S. diploma or GED, and a valid driver's licence, and pass a background check.
Many of our deputies got their start in the law enforecement profession by working in the jail and proving their work ethic. Good reading comprehension, writing, and computer skills are helpful.

Full-time Deputy Sheriff
The Neosho County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for a full-time Deputy Sheriff. Starting wage is $16.20 increasing to $17 per hour after successful completion of probation. if already a KS certified law enforcement officer, and depending on years of service and certification, wage upon completion of probation could increase to $18.50. Night shift increases the wage by .40 cents. Deputies work 7/14 days. KLETC certified preferred, but willing to train the right applicant. Minimum requirements include: at least 21 years old; have a high school diploma or GED; pass a background, physical, and psychological evaluation.
